The University of Missouri Veterans Clinic is staffed by MU
Law School students and overseen by professional lawyers. They specialize in
navigating the VA benefits system on behalf of veterans and their families. It
started in 2014 and has assisted more than 600 veterans and their families and
helped train nearly 100 law students in veterans benefits law. They have
secured more than $2 million in retroactive benefits and more than $1 million
in annualized monthly compensation payments.
“I think it’s phenomenal
what they do,” Pracht said. “There are so many veterans who are not getting a
fair shake. They’re doing this on their own time. That’s the type of dedication
and selfless service that is really, really hard to find.”
