University of Wyoming/Casper - Effects of Agent Orange subject of talk

The University of Wyoming/Casper College (UW/CC) Center and UW International Programs Office will sponsor Diem Pham’s talk, “Agent Orange Usage and Continuing Dioxin Exposure to the Vietnamese People: An Environmental and Social Justice Issue Remaining 40 Years After the Vietnam War,” at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 10, at the UW Outreach Building, 951 N. Poplar.
Pham, a young environmental health scientist from Vietnam, earned her bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering and her master’s degree in zoology and physiology, both from UW. Her main research interests include Agent Orange/dioxin and human health. Throughout her master’s studies, supported in part by the UW International Programs Office, she collaborated with the Vietnamese Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and others to assess how demographic, lifestyle and dietary risk factors contributed to blood dioxin levels in Vietnamese citizens living on or near dioxin-contaminated sites.
The talk is free and open to the public. For more information, call the UW/CC Center at 268-2713.
